Words and their Stories

They say speech has power. You only need to look up and listen to public addresses by Demosthenes, Winston Churchill, Ferdinand Marcos, and President Duterte to know this. But speeches are mere spoken words. Words are potent whether spoken or written. And when printed, published, and circulated to thousands, words can mightily turn the tide, start a revolution, change the world. Look at the Bible, Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere, the Treaty of Versailles, and, in recent times, a very famous and influential person’s Facebook post.
